No other number is currently heating up discussions about innovative ICT technologies and future-oriented business strategies more than 2.0. Web 2.0, business 2.0 or e-Government 2.0: Those who want to demonstrate that they are ready for change and the future, those who have something to say about the trends of tomorrow are talking about the magical number 2.0. Even German business magazines such as "Der Spiegel" have dedicated special editions to the rebirth of the new economy in the form of You Tube and company.
Successful with convergence
The European mega event hosted by the renowned market research institute IDC will also focus on 2.0. "Enterprise 2.0 – Capitalizing on Convergence:" The European ICT forum will focus on the convergence of information and telecommunications technology (ICT) during its two-day event. IDC consultants are convinced that those who miss out on the 2.0 revolution will not be able to keep up with tomorrow's competition.
In Berlin, trendsetters such as the IT strategist, author and trend researcher Don Tapscott and Andrew McAfee from the Harvard Business School will talk about how companies should respond to this trend. Managers from international companies will present their ideas and projects on Enterprise 2.0.
T-Systems is also tackling the Web 2.0 challenge. The company is using 2.0 technologies for the optimization of its own business processes and is developing innovative and cooperative solutions for its business customers. As a partner of this year's IDC forum, T-Systems will show how Real ICT pursues the idea of convergent solutions in a targeted manner. T-Systems strategist Carsten Rossbach will talk about the bridge from 2.0 to convergence in his keynote speech "Real ICT: The arrival of convergence." He will demonstrate that business success is less dependent on hype than on a successful symbiosis of technology and customer benefit.
Workstation 2.0
In Berlin, T-Systems will use three projects to show how companies can benefit from the collective intelligence of the collaboration-based 2.0 environment.
Dynamic Desktop is a virtual workstation. It is always exactly where employees need it to be. All data and applications are provided via the network. T-Systems manages all of the workstations' hardware and software centrally. This enables employees to use their personal graphical user interface at any place and any time.
There is also the communication platform Motiva, a TV-based patient management system. With the telemonitoring solution, doctors are able to monitor their patients' current condition, collect data and detect possible risky situations early on. Motiva decreases hospital stays, increases patient quality of life and reduces costs for insurers.
T-Systems brings together the complete range of the latest technology in a Deutsche Telekom project that is unique in Europe - the "T-City." The special feature of this "workshop" of the future: The benefit of the marriage of broadband and mobile technology and state-of-the-art ICT solutions. This combination can be experienced in real life at the T-City.
