T-Systems opens the third d-Core Center for ICT experts in Spain

May 09, 2008

April showers bring May flowers, even in Gijon. Gijon in northern Spain's Asturias region has its own d-Core Competence Center, the third one on the Iberian Peninsula.
With d-Core, T-Systems is developing a knowledge network in southern Europe that promotes innovations across locations and facilitates the education of experts. The first center was established a year ago in Reus/Tarragona and the second is in Madrid. Here young scientists and students have the opportunity to exchange knowledge with d-Core employees and to specialise in their fields of interest. The focus is on innovations in software development.
To each his own
The d-Core network has a special philosophy: Each center has a different focus. The equipment is also geared towards a particular subject. This prevents unnecesary costs from being incurred, with each center nevertheless having exactly the required equipment and know-how for efficiently conducting development processes. Gijon will concentrate on the requirements of the public administration. T-Systems is taking on a pioneering role in Spain with this concept. Two smudges remain on the map: By the end of 2008 the ICT service provider wants to operate five d-Core Centers for excellent research in the region that the Toreros call home.
